The following are statements in what it means to be a member of Riverwood Covenant Church. Our goal is to be transparant in what we believe to have unity and Connect, Grow and Reach ourselves and other for Christ.
All are required to affirm membership for the year.
As a Riverwood member, I believe and confess:
Christ is my Savior and Lord.
The Bible is the Word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine, and conduct.
When we fall short, we are invited to repent, receive the forgiveness of God, and amend our lives. 1
As a Riverwood Member, I seek to remain steadfast in the faith by:
Reading the Word of God and pursuing a relationship with Him.
Pursuing a life morally and ethically consistent with Christ's life and teachings.
Sharing the Gospel of Christ through word and deed.
As a Riverwood Member, I agree:
That baptism points to a 'Day of Salvation', either looking forward with infant Baptism or back with Believers Baptism.
That women and men are all one in Christ and God's Spirit pours out on both alike in ministry.
With the Covenant statement, 'God created people, male and female, and provided for the marriage relationship in which two may become one. A publicly declared, legally binding marriage between one woman and one man is the one appropriate place for sexual intercourse. Heterosexual marriage, faithfulness within marriage, abstinence outside marriage - these constitute the Christian standard'.1
I commit to Riverwood Covenant Church, my local church body and will attend regularly for teaching, fellowship, communion and the contribution of my gifts and talents.
